For more than 30 years, John J. Oleck has been making the home-buying and –selling process smoother, smarter, and more enjoyable for his clients. If you like your realtor with wisdom, experience, integrity and a sense of humor—you’d love working with John.
A native of New Jersey, John has called West Michigan home since his college days, when he attended Aquinas College and helped lead the cross-country and track teams. If you have ever walked Aquinas College’s beautiful campus, you can see one of John’s legacies, as one of his activities as a student there was to plant many of the gorgeous trees you see today! As one of seven children (six boys and one very tough girl) growing up in a tight-knit Italian/Polish-American family, John knows that a home isn’t just a shelter—it’s a place where memories are made, bonds are formed, food is shared and life is celebrated. It’s what drives him to help ensure that his clients find a place that fits their needs as best as possible.
John is married to Sylvia, and together they raised their three children (Cecilia, Philip, Anthony) on Grand Rapids’ West Side. Now he is enjoying seeing his grandchildren grow up as Grand Rapidians. John is passionate about his faith, family and Notre Dame football (usually in that order!).
He goes the extra mile for his clients, many of whom he has developed long-lasting relationships with, helping them navigate the often complex world of real estate with confidence and grace. Prior to becoming a real estate agent, John worked with the United Farm Workers movement (Cesar Chavez), and today as a Realtor, he remains committed to helping make the American Dream of homeownership accessible to people from all walks of life.
